Mangrove Capital Partners and ABRT Venture Fund invested in social gaming startup DrimmiMoscow, January 25, 2010 Drimmi, social gaming startup founded in autumn 2009, has raised funding from Mangrove Capital Partners and ABRT Fund with a goal to become #1 Russian social gaming company. The name “Drimmi” comes from “Dream”. David Waroquier, partner at Mangrove Capital Partners, led the round on behalf of the Luxembourg-based venture capital firm. David Waroquier pointed to the Russian social gaming market’s “high levels of users engagement and strong monetization history” in Drimmi’s official deal announcement. Drimmi has a team of twenty game developers and marketers in Moscow and is headed by CEO Nikita Sherman (former CEO of Russia’s leading online dating platform Mamba) and COO Viktor Zakharchenko. Also Drimmi has already opened two regional game development offices in Bryansk and Tolyatti. The investment will be used for development of games and publishing on Russian social networks - Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki.ru and MoiMir@Mail.ru. Drimmi plans to release more than ten games in 2010. On 3 February 2010 Drimmi released its first social game, Ðûáíîå Ìåñòî (Fish Place). The game, which is about fishing, is available for playing on Vkontakte, the biggest Russian social network with over 60 million registered users. Mangrove Capital and ABRT previously teamed up in Russia to invest in visual-based search engine Quintura and online shopping club KupiVIP.ru.
